Notice: Effective July 1, 2011, Recording fees will increase by $6.00 for all documents (except Maps and UCCs).Documents are recorded daily from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every working day. Effective January 1, 2010, pursuant to Civil Code 1798.89, you may not present a document for recording or filing with the Recorder if that record displays more than the last four digits of a social security number. For walk-in recordings, we will mail the document back in 3-4 weeks from the recording date. For documents sent via mail, we will mail the document back in 4-6 weeks from the date of receipt. The standard recording fee for a single document in which all of the pages are regular size (8-1/2" x 11") is $15.00 for the first page and $3.00 for each additional page. If ANY of the pages are larger or smaller, a penalty fee of $3.00 is charged for each page of the document (whether letter or legal sized). Effective January 1, 2008, an additional Real Estate Fraud Fee of $2.00 will apply to each: Deed of Trust, Asgt. of Deed of Trust, Reconveyance, Notice of Default, Request for Notice, Substitution of Trustee, Notice of Trustee's Sale, and Rescission/Cancellation of Default Notice. For documents transferring real property or easements, unless the document qualifies for a valid exemption, documentary transfer tax is due at the rate of 55 cents per $500.00, and is based on the unencumbered assessed value of the property, OR the purchase price; WHICHEVER IS GREATER. We do not conform copies. You may purchase a recorded copy of the first page with the recording information for an additional $3.00. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. You may send one check for both recording fees, copy fees, and transfer tax.
